Brewster Housing Production Plan Approved by Town

On July 11, the Town of Brewster approved the Housing Production Plan 2022-2027. A Housing Production Plan is primarily meant to help communities reach the 10% statutory minimum under Chapter 40B for Affordable Housing.
Judi Barrett, (Principal in Charge) and Alexis Lanzillotta (Project Manager) worked as consultants along with Town staff, Brewster Housing Partnership, Brewster Select Board, and Brewster Planning Board, to prepare 22 recommendations for the Plan to move forward.
Factors that contributed to the needs of the new Housing Production Plan (HPP) included infrastructure capacity and housing density, environmental matters, the seasonal housing market, the older population, growing income inequality, and preserving open space.
